A gathering filled with powerful ideas
There is something special about watching a TED Talk in a room full of curious minds. The quiet nods, small chuckles and conversations that follow - that was what we hoped to capture through our live screenings, where we brought global TED content closer to home.
TEDNext
Our TEDNext screening was intentionally intimate and cozy within our office walls. A mix of handpicked talks streamed live along with fun and engageful ice breakers quickly filled the evening with meaningful conversations and laughter. What started off as a “trial run” to explore the TEDNext content together with our community quickly turned into a memorable night filled with laughter, shared reflections and even a round or two of icebreaker games.
It was casual and intimate yet powerful too. We didn’t need big lights or a stage - just a screen, some light bites and the openness to let ideas stir something in us.
TEDxSingaporeLive 2025: Big screen, bigger energy
For TEDxSingaporeLive, we brought the experience to a larger stage - literally. Held at the beautiful Marina One Auditorium with an audience of 300 people, this was just more than a screening. It was an opportunity for our community to experience and engage their 5 senses throughout the event.
Complimentary coffee was offered while our attendees got to explore the various engagements from tech using AI to help the elderly all the way to a sustainable book swap station, before immersing themselves in TED content as it was being broadcasted from the global TED stage. From fresh ideas in technology and climate to personal stories of resilience, the talks as usual created moments of awe and introspection.
Workshops on sustainability were conducted by our student volunteers from AMICA as well giving the opportunity to teach and learn from one another. And of course no TEDxSingapore event is complete without post-talk discussions. Groups naturally formed after the event - people conversing and sharing over what moved them, challenged them or made them think differently.
More Than Just Screenings, Lasting Impact
What both these screenings had in common wasn’t just the format - it was the ideas. A shared belief that great ideas deserve to be heard, seen and felt together. The growth of our community does not always depend on grand events but instead through small, thoughtful experiences as well.That even as we stream talks from across the world, the reflections and ripples happen right here, within our local community. Through these Live Screenings, we found new faces, fresh perspectives and a renewed sense of why we do what we do.
